Literacy Council of Madison County, Inc.

Our mission is to provide education services to adult residents of Madison County to enhance their quality of life as jobholders, parents, and life-long learners. For over 33 years, we have been the answer to success for Madison County adult learners seeking advancement in basic education skills. In our rural Madison community, one in every five adults has not achieved a level of education that is equivalent to a high school diploma. We know that improving literacy rates can boost labor productivity, cut national healthcare costs, and break the cycle of poverty for families. By unlocking literacy skills, adult learners will be more empowered to find better work, advance their education, and help their children with homework. It is obvious that the work of teaching adult learners is essential and relevant for the community. We are continually looking for volunteers, learners, and donors!
