Child Care & Learning Center

The Child Care and Learning Center is a nationally accredited, non profit child care provider in Washington, Virginia in operation since 1976. Our mission is to nurture each child's development and learning, and to support families through strong partnerships.

We provide child care for infants through two year old children, Pre-K for 3 and 4 year olds, and after school and summer camp programs. Each year, we provides scholarships for children in need--in 2018, more than half of our students received some level of subsidy provided through foundation and public system support and through private donations. Our goal is to provide the attention to developmental, health, social, emotional and family needs needed to ensure the child's well-being and readiness to enter elementary school. We measure our impact by the number of children meeting or exceeding the Virginia's Foundation Blocks for Early Learning, the professional development of our teaching staff measured through classroom evaluation and against Virginia Quality standards, and the satisfaction of our parents and community partners with the services provided.
